Engine Yard Inc., a San Francisco business that builds and hosts Rails applications, raised $15 million in a second round of funding.  Engine Yard will spend the money on software development, research into a new cloud computing cluster platform and plans to release an initial test product by early fall.  “We’re definitely focused on giving people useful software tools and continuing to provide 24/7 service,” said Tom Mornini, Engine Yard co-founder and CTO. “We certainly intend to encourage customer focus and will shore up top-level management.”
