Alerts.com, Inc. secured $1.2 million in capital.  Information overload. That’s the problem that Alerts.com founder Pascal Stolz is looking to solve with a free online service that helps people receive stock quotes, horoscopes, sports scores, gas prices, flight plans and other information alerts in a timely and efficient manner.  In an interview earlier this year, Stolz said the market is fragmented and no one provides a comprehensive alert service. He said there is a big difference between the “news feeds” from Google and Topix and the specific alerts one can register to receive through Alerts.com. For example, users of Alerts.com can sign up to receive news releases alongside birthday reminders and shopping and weather alerts. They choose to have the alerts sent to an e-mail or cell phone.
