Fulcrum Microsystems Inc., a Calabasas, Calif.-based developer of circuit architecture for fabless semiconductors, has raised around $29 million in Series E funding.  “FocalPoint can be used in a variety of high performance switch fabric applications. Data center switches can be developed which take advantage of congestion management and low latency. Computer clustering and storage networking can show increased performance with FocalPoint’s extremely low latency. Telecom systems can take advantage of FocalPoint’s quality of service and congestion management features in backplanes as well as load balancing and aggregation systems.”
