Iovation raises $15,000,000

Iovation Inc., a Portland, Ore.-based provider of device reputation for managing online fraud, abusive behavior and multi-factor authentication, has raised $15 million in second-round funding.  iovation pioneered the first device reputation service that provides real-time fraud and abuse protection for a number of verticals including online retail, financial services, Internet gaming and online social networking sites. Using patented technology, iovation exposes known fraudsters and abusers, and their relationships between suspicious devices, so they can no longer hide behind multiple identities to perpetrate online fraud and abuse. Customers sharing iovation’s network of device reputation intelligence are better equipped to prevent online fraud and abuse while increasing operational efficiencies and business revenues through more precise risk management.  “Another emerging technology is iovation, which helps online dating sites battle fraud. One problem that keeps online dating executives up at night is scammers. With iovation’s ReputationManager, one dating site can flag a person as abusive and throw them out and then let other sites in the online dating community know about it. Then others can quarantine that person or at least keep an eye on them.”
