I-Therapeutix raises $6,000,000

I-Therapeutix Inc., a Waltham, Mass.-based developer of situ formed hydrogel therapeutic products for ophthalmology, has raised $6 million in Series B funding.  I-Therapeutix is a privately held medical device company that is currently engaged in development of in situ formed hydrogel therapeutic products specifically for ophthalmology. I-Therapeutix, Inc.’s first product, I-Zip is expected to be the first synthetic ocular bandage designed and indicated for ophthalmic surgery.  I-Therapeutix’s vision is to address unmet needs in ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery by developing first-of-a-kind therapeutic products based on its proprietary technology of in situ formed hydrogels.
