Online video provider Akimbo Inc., which focuses on monetizing video over the Internet from content providers’ own Web sites, said it received a new round of funding.  San Mateo-based Akimbo said it “supports multiple business models including ad-supported, transactional, subscription, download-to-own, download-to-burn, pay-per-minute, gift cards and account credits.”  The round was for $8 million, according to PE Hub.
