Soft Sight, Inc., d/b/a Threadsmith, a custom-embroidery company in Vestal, received $1 million in venture capital to expand its business and hire employees.  The technology used by Threadsmith — developed by Goldman and chief technical officer Nirav Patel — allows customers to create and order a variety of embroidered items from its Web site in real time using their own logos or other artwork, he said.  “That is radically different from how you buy embroidery today,” Goldman said.  Other companies, he said, require time-consuming and costly processes — including artwork design — to produce similar products.
