Therative Inc., which unveiled its ThermaClear acne treatment device in February, said Wednesday it has closed a new round of private financing that raised $9 million ThermaClear, the privately held company’s first consumer product, is a handheld device for treatment of mild-to-moderate inflammatory acne. It uses “pulse technology,” similar to the laser treatments dermatologists use to treat acne, delivering a controlled burst of heat directly to the pimple to “neutralize the underlying bacteria,” according to the company.
