Digg raises $8,500,000

Digg wins $8.5M in new capital The company that owns popular social bookmarking website Digg.com has raised $8.5 million US in new financing from investors as part of a bid to entrench itself as a media portal leader Digg.com users submit links and commentary on news stories and other items on the World Wide Web that they find interesting. The submissions are voted upon by other Digg.com members. Submissions that receive the most “diggs” are published on the site in order of their ranking.
